auricular (ear) prostheses

An auricular prosthesis is custom-sculpted to match the contralateral ear and to create overall facial balance. When a patient requires bilateral prostheses (both sides), a photo or a family member can serve as a model. Auricular prostheses may be retained by a system of magnets and tape, with the use of adhesive, or through an osseointegrated (bone-anchored) system.
